Crazy.  I can't believe it's been almost a year since I posted last!  My friend Alison has been dutifully blogging about her training first for Ironman, and now training for whatever fabulous event catches her eye.  materfamillias is also an inspirational blogger about her life, her clothes (!!!) and recently, her running triumphs.  The last of my inspirational women is Moniera who hasn't let her broken pelvis (Whistler Bike Park victim) slow down her spirit.


With those thoughts in mind I've decided to shift the focus of my blog to track my training for the 2012 BC Bike Race.  In a moment of clarity, or confusion perhaps, I decided a few months ago that I needed a big goal to motivate me to get back into shape.  I signed up for the full course (the EPIC category, yikes!) thinking that it was long enough to scare me which means that I can't pull this race outta my ass like I could have in my younger days.


Training to date has consisted of.... oh right, I'm supposed to be training.  I'll get on that soon enough.  Right now I'm dreaming about ski season and thinking that regular jaunts into the backcountry and on the XC set up will help me build my base.  OK OK, Keps, I hear yah, I'll start trying to enjoy running as well.
